Flowers in Bloom

These are all flowers I have photographed within the last week. The above is a flower head on an Arrowwood Viburnum (Viburnum dentatum).

This is Blue Dogbane or Bluestar (Amsonia tabernaemontana).

This is a Strawberry Bush or American Euonymus (Euonymus americanus). This is the North American relative of a more invasive nonnative shrub, known as Winged Euonymus or Burning Bush (Euonymus alatus).

This is an Inkberry (Ilex glabra). Aside from providing berries for birds, Inkberry is one of the known host plants for the Holly Azure (Celastrina idella), a recently-described species in the Spring Azure complex.
